First... what's happening in you?
It seems that there is an undercurrent of interest in this new expression
of kingdom called "Simple Church". Our goal, first and foremost, is
to make new disciples of Jesus. When existing believers want to know more about simple church or house church, I have
been telling them to read Neil Cole's book, "Organic Church" and George
Barna's book, "Revolution". You can get them from
www.amazon.com But books
really are secondary. They do not do justice to what God is already
putting into our hearts. I think these books
will help clarify what God is saying if it is already in you... desperation for a new and vibrant expression of God's Kingdom among us.
When are we gathering again?
We hope to meet again in the fall of 2006 in the end of November. Tell us if you are interested. We at Valley Gate Vineyard are developing a network of simple church communities. We have been listening to God with a particuar interest this last year about what God is saying to us as a congregation transitioning to be a network of communities. We are sure that God must be allowed to do this, that He will change hearts, that we cannot organize it, but that it must me an organic transformation. We also firmly believe that connectivity and relationships are at the heart of such a transformation. Pray for us in this transition if you think of us. If you are interested in simple church or the transitioning to simple church from congregation, then email us about what God is putting in your heart. We are especially interested in what God may be saying about a larger network in the Annapolis Valley and in the maritimes in general. You can make your comments on the
